We are delighted to announce that businesses who were previously not eligible to be a member of Otley Business Improvement District can now sign up to become a Voluntary Member.
Who Can Apply
This includes businesses within the LS21 area who:
- work from home
- are a tradesperson, or
- are located outside of the BID levy area
Benefits to Members
Voluntary Members can enjoy many of the same benefits as BID levy payers:
- Business of the Week Feature – be highlighted on the Buy in Otley directory home page and Visit Otley social media. The Buy in Otley site has excellent search engine optimisation with some business entries ranking higher than the businesses’s own channels. On social media, some Business of the Week posts can have organic reach of up to 20,000 from the Visit Otley channel alone. With Business of the Week slots also being promoted across the town Facebook groups (Otley Our Town, Otley the community we live in, and Simply Otley), the overall reach is many times this. Businesses have reported seeing a direct ROI in terms of new customers / clients.
- Business Directory Listing – get listed on the Buy in Otley website, which attracts an average of 2000 unique visitors per month.
- Free Business Training – access to a range of workshops and training sessions at no cost
- Quarterly Business Newsletter – stay informed with updates, opportunities and local business news delivered to your inbox every quarter
- Business Mailing List – be part of our business community and receive updates on planning, business support and the chance to have your say on issues affecting local business
- Free Networking Events – connect with other local business owners at regular networking events designed to build relationships and share opportunities
- Monthly Drop-In Sessions – attend our informal monthly sessions where BID directors are available to offer advice, answer questions and provide support. You’ll also benefit from our extended networking, including contacts at Otley Town Council, Leeds City Council and other key organisations.
Please note: Voluntary Members will not have any voting rights.
Annual Fee
New members: £25 + VAT per year, payable today
Existing voluntary members: £0 today, then £25 + VAT on 1st April.
